A measure of the number and quality of eggs remaining in a woman's ovaries. Ovarian reserve naturally declines with age, accelerating after age 35. It is assessed through blood tests (AMH, day 3 FSH) and antral follicle count (AFC) by ultrasound. Low ovarian reserve does not mean conception is impossible, but it may indicate a narrower window of fertility.
