An over-the-counter urine test that detects the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs 24–48 hours before ovulation. A positive OPK (test line as dark as or darker than the control line) signals that ovulation is likely imminent. For best results, test at the same time each day, in the afternoon, and limit fluids 2 hours before testing.
