๐ When to Start
Start daily kick counts at 28 weeks (third trimester). Count at the same time each day โ pick a time when your baby is usually active.
๐๏ธ Best Position
Lie on your left side or sit comfortably with your hand on your belly. After a meal or cold drink, babies tend to be more active.
๐ข What Counts?
- โ Kicks, punches, rolls, and jabs
- โ Flutters and swishes
- โ Pushes against your ribs/bladder
- โ Hiccups (don't count these)
๐ Normal Patterns
- ๐ Most active: evening & after meals
- ๐ด Least active: when you're walking
- ๐ Movement may slow slightly near due date
- ๐ฏ 10 kicks in 2 hours = healthy baby
๐จ Call Your Doctor If:
- ๐ด You don't reach 10 movements in 2 hours
- ๐ด You notice a significant decrease in your baby's usual pattern
- ๐ด Baby hasn't moved at all for several hours during wake time
- ๐ด Movements feel weaker than usual over multiple sessions
