A clinical measurement of the distance (in centimeters) from the pubic symphysis to the top of the uterus (fundus). From about 20 weeks, the fundal height in centimeters roughly equals the gestational age in weeks (±2 cm). Measurements significantly above or below expected values may prompt further investigation for intrauterine growth restriction, macrosomia, or incorrect dating.
