📖 Definition
A condition in which there is too much amniotic fluid surrounding the baby. It may be idiopathic (no identified cause) or associated with gestational diabetes, fetal anomalies affecting swallowing, multiple gestation, or Rh incompatibility. Symptoms include rapid uterine growth, shortness of breath, and abdominal discomfort. It is associated with preterm labor and cord prolapse.
