Placenta Previa

A condition where the placenta covers the cervical opening

๐Ÿ“– Definition

A complication in which the placenta partially or completely covers the cervical opening (internal os). This can cause painless vaginal bleeding in the second or third trimester and usually requires cesarean delivery. Many cases of low-lying placenta detected at the 20-week scan resolve spontaneously by the third trimester.
