Breech Presentation

When the baby is positioned feet- or bottom-first instead of head-down

๐Ÿ“– Definition

A fetal position in which the baby's buttocks or feet are positioned to deliver first instead of the head. About 3โ€“4% of full-term babies are in breech at term. Providers may attempt external cephalic version (ECV) to turn the baby. If unsuccessful, cesarean delivery is usually recommended, though vaginal breech delivery is performed by some specialists.
