A sharp, jabbing pain or dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin area, most common during the second trimester. Caused by the stretching and thickening of the round ligaments (which support the uterus) as the uterus grows. Often triggered by sudden movements, laughing, coughing, or sneezing.
