Nesting Instinct

A surge of energy and urge to clean and organize before birth

๐Ÿ“– Definition

An instinct experienced by many pregnant women, particularly in the third trimester, to prepare the home for the baby's arrival โ€” involving intense cleaning, organizing, and setting up the nursery. The nesting instinct is thought to be driven by hormonal changes and evolutionary preparation. A sudden burst of nesting energy near the due date can sometimes (but not always) signal that labor is near.
