๐ Definition
Lines or streaks on the skin caused by rapid stretching that tears the dermis. During pregnancy they typically appear on the abdomen, breasts, thighs, and buttocks in the second and third trimesters. Initially pink, red, or purple, they fade to silvery-white over time. Genetics is the primary risk factor. No cream has been proven to prevent them, though keeping skin moisturized can reduce itchiness.
