A scoring system used to evaluate the health of a newborn at 1 minute and 5 minutes after birth. Five criteria are assessed: Appearance (skin color), Pulse (heart rate), Grimace (reflex), Activity (muscle tone), and Respiration. Each is scored 0–2, with a total of 7–10 considered normal.
