Most celebrities love watching fans showing interest in their daily lives. Maybe, that’s why they come up with wacky and strange names for their children. I guess they aren’t aware of the fact that these names may provoke other kids to make fun of them.
Well, this is something these parents should have thought about before finalizing their children’s names. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard or seen a few of them in magazines or TV already, but we have handpicked the craziest names of all time. Let’s see how many of these you were aware of.

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, and her ex-husband Chris Martin, named their daughter Apple. Though it sounds pretty cute, was it used because the couple loved the brand Apple or the fruit? Eventually, Paltrow was asked this question, and her reply was, “It sounded so sweet, and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet, and they’re wholesome, and it’s biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and clean! And I just thought, ‘Perfect!’.”
Yes, you heard that right! Nicolas Cage and wife Alice Kim named their baby boy Kal-El, in 2005. Many fans started scratching their heads when it hit the news. Why would someone name their kid after Super Man’s Krypton name? Cage explained 16 months after his son’s birth, “my wife wanted a unique name, and originally I thought of the name Kyle and then she said, ‘No, something more unusual but beautiful.’ Then I remembered the old Superman comics and Kal-El was his original name on Krypton. So I wanted a name that stood for something good was unique and American, and that’s all three. I just thought it was a beautiful name and it had kind of a magical ring to it.”

That’s not even a profession! Jason Lee, what have you done? The Alvin and The Chipmunks star named his kid Pilot Inspecktor. He explained himself by telling Entertainment Weekly that he got the idea from indie rock band Grandaddy’s 2000 album, The Sophtware Slump. Even though he cleared his part of the story, we would still love to ask him, why?

Children of style icon Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West have also made the list due to their peculiar names. The couple cleared the air by explaining the first two names. They chose North because it’s the highest point resembling powerful. The name Saint was chosen because they considered their second child a blessing – Reasonable, but still crazy! And we’re still waiting to hear the story behind Chicago!
5. Sage Moonblood and Seargeoh
Sylvester Stallone’s first two kids had the wackiest names of all time. The first one being called Sage Moonblood raised the eyebrows of many. What does Moonblood even mean? Looking at the second one, imagine Stallone pronounce Seargeoh, in his accent. I don’t think I’d be able to understand what he’s saying.
6. Shiloh Nouvel
Daughter of the once hottest couple in Hollywood, just had to get her named added to this list. Though this couple have had a habit of keeping giving their children stranger names, Shiloh Nouvel has topped the chart. The names of her siblings are, Maddox, Pax, Knox, Vivienne, and Zahara. Though these names may have a more profound meaning, they still sound pretty crazy.
7. Ocean, Sonnet, True, and Autumn
Popular and successful actor Forest Whitaker gave his children names that are things for normal people. All these names sound like movie titles he would love to work in. However, he actually spoke up and told his fans the reason behind these unusual names, “I want them to kind of touch their destiny by their names. Autumn is sort of flighty and Sonnet is much more of an artist, and True was very strong, and Ocean just has a big heart. He wants to be a veterinarian…He’s been talking about it for years.”
8. Satchel Lee
Next up is the daughter of film producer Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee. Though the couple named their other child Jackson Lee, why did they choose such a strange name for their daughter? That’s something we’ll have to ask them if we ever get a chance to meet the couple.
Yes, it’s a name! I thought it was a typo the first time I read this three letter name. It took me a while to understand how to pronounce it. “Hey Kid, I mean Kyd”! I believe the couple was looking for a common name, and chose the one that we usually call every other young person. However, Kyd doesn’t appreciate his name and prefers being called Miller.
10. Blue Ivy
If this were the name of a unique flower or a high-quality perfume, I wouldn’t have been surprised. However, Jay-Z and Beyoncé named their little girl Blue Ivy. Many started raising questions and then it was believed that ‘Ivy’ came from the number four in Roman numerical. Also, Jay-Z has quite a number of albums that feature this color in the titles. Furthermore, the couple has shown their love for the color on several occasions – Obsession can definitely lead you to make some of the wackiest decisions!
What do these celebrity couples think while naming their babies? I guess they don’t realize the misery the child will have to go through during his school or college days. Though these names create a buzz in the industry, they might not go down so well with their children’s peers at school or college.
